[OOC] INFOPOST: Short and GIF-less Edition

So I have a newbie coming in and an oldbie coming back, so the short and sweet version.

Ensign Lieutenant (junior grade) Beckett Mariner

Starfleet's Finest(?)

Hailing from Start Trek: Lower Decks, a deeply earnest, deeply silly, deep-cut of a show, exploring the wackier side of the Star Trek universe. Beckett Mariner is the answer to the question, what happens when you take a tiny, earnest space nerd, send her to the academy for tiny earnest space nerds to become giant earnest space nerds, and set her free within a galaxy which has suddenly taken a turn for the gritty and war-torn?

Namely he goes from being on the fast track to captain to a cynical, sarcastic, traumatised wreck of a slacker coasting on a surprisingly high level of competence willfully self-sabotaging herself out of promotions and career advancement for a good decade.

Yay?

But for those playing the home game, Mariner is coming from after season four, so she's bass ackwarded herself into a support system and a promotion she can't self-sabotage out of, so she's working on that and letting herself be the nerd she's always been not very deep down. You know, right up somebody until de-aged her in a transport accident, flung her through a space portal, and stuck her here.

Yay!

Ahsoka Tano

Not a Jedi.

As you might have noticed from class sign-ups, Ahsoka is coming back to teach a class with Anakin.

After many years and much effort to avoid it on my part, Ahsoka has literally just learned about the Vader thing. Literally. It's been less than an hour for her.

So this shouldn't be at all awkward.

Spoiler: It's totally going to be awkward.

Me

The problem. Hi. It me.
